April 27, 2008
Hey guys! Hope you all had a great spring break, or if not, hope you had a good week! Here are some important updates:
- I got in contact with Greg from The Arts Factory…
…and yes, they’re willing and able, so the Film Festival has a DEFINITE venue. However, we just need to organize a date and there will be an admissions fee. (They need to pay bills, no?)
- FILM APPLICATIONS RECEIVED SO FAR: 1
I know you all have promised me you’d send it in, and I know who is definitely making a film (maybe even two!), but I need to see the evidence (aka the application) or else I have nothing to present to The Arts Factory, and therefore, no film festival. Remember, all you need to provide is the BASIC information on the application. It doesn’t need to be exact and specific. I just need a general idea of what you will do. PLEASE, you can even message it on Facebook or IM it to me. I don’t care how informal it is. I just need it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
- TO ALL CORE MEMBERS:
THIS WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY = IMPORTANT “FIELD TRIPS” ASK YOUR PARENTS NOW.
~ Wednesday - Visit to The Arts Factory in Bayonne at 8PM. Method of transportation = My mom and any other people willing to drive. We’re basically checking out the venue and trying to get a date set up for the festival.
~ Thursday - Visit to Hoboken University Medical Center right after school. Method of transportation = Lightrail. This is will be the most important of the two because this is where we get our “training” so to speak. We’re going to meet our advisors and exchange contact information. All that good stuff. I might divide it into two trips, sending half of us each time since only half can come anyway.
** MANDATORY MEETING. Thursday at 8PM. AIM Chat. Please be prompt. **
SPREAD WORD OF OUR EXISTENCE. PLEASE. We need as many people to come to the Film Festival as possible! Bring your friends! Bring your relatives! We’ll be selling t-shirts and stuff. =D It’s for a good cause and it’s going to be fun! Joelle’s going to play as well as some of her other connections. (Really, please come!)
Thanks for your attention guys. Love you all.

We qualify for the $1,000 grant. The only condition is that the core members (I’m assuming, because it said “you,” and it didn’t specify whether it was just me or whether it was all of us.) get a certification in teenage mental health. The suggestion was that we meet with mental health professionals at an advisory capacity to ensure we are getting the most up-to-date information. I’m really excited and even though the full-blown thrill hasn’t stuck me yet, I’m sure it will soon.
More updates soon.

FINALLY! Now all we have to do is wait. Fliers are in the process of being approved with Ms. Barone and Mr. Slattery, so those will be up by tomorrow. ^_^ I’m really excited.
TO ALL FILMMAKERS: DEADLINE FOR FILM APPLICATIONS HAS BEEN MOVED TO APRIL 1, 2008. Download the Film Application here: film-application
REMEMBER: Films do NOT need to be submitted on April 1. The films need to be submitted MAY 1. Just to clarify.
That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more. =D

Seriously. Get ready folks!
You can now register to for your own blog here! There will be specifics, but for now, bear with being a subscriber while the kinks get worked out.
We’ll also have a mailing list up once everything else is up. Yep yep.

Well… we have this much! x_x
Working.. slowly. I must publicly thank George Salazar for helping me ease into using the whole cPanel interface and all of the other nifty features. We’re making progress!
